CPCT (Computer Proficiency Certification Test) परीक्षा में हिंदी टाइपिंग के दो लेआउट प्रचलित है :

दोनो ही लेआउट एक-दूसरे से पूर्णत: अलग है तो हिंदी टाइपिंग की शुरूआत करने से पहले हमें उसके लेआउट के बारे में जानना आवश्‍यक है ताकि हम उसके अनुसार अपने फॉन्‍ट लेआउट का चयन कर सके और टाइपिंग की प्रैक्टिस कर सके। दोनो लेआउट इस प्रकार से है :
